Tropic Hut Events Calendar--2014
April 1, 2014:
Tropic Hut Cafe Begins!
We bought a REAL restaurant this year. It's located
in the Washoe County Administrative Complex,
1001 East 9th St, Suite C-120, Reno, NV 89512.
Yes, we'll still be doing fairs and festivals, but
for a few months our focus is entirely on the cafe.

Imagine Nation Books held a book fair at Tropic Hut Cafe with the agreement that part of the proceeds would go to
The American Cancer Society.
The amount raised for ACS was $92.64. As the owner of Tropic Hut Cafe, I matched that contribution.
I made this contribution in honor of my mother, Virginia Hooten of El Paso, TX and my dear friend Agi Gaura of Stateline, NV.
Both these women faced cancer in recent years and, with their remarkable courage and the help of modern medicine,
both are recovered and living full lives.
They not only survived cancer; they triumphed over it.
I'm sure the modern medicine from which they benefitted was due in no small part to the work of American
Cancer Society.
Incidentally, both these women triumphed over cancers that were not breast cancer.
My support of The American Cancer Society is toward the eradication of all
cancers that affect both sexes, not just the trendy pink ribbon one.
May there truly come a day when this vile disease no longer steals years from people's lives.
